The 5th International Gas Turbine Conference organised by ETN took place in the Conrad Hotel in Brussels, Belgium on 27-28 October 2010, focusing on the future of gas turbine (GT) technology from a users', a research and a political point of view. It explored the market outlook and the role played today by gas turbines in the international energy policy mix as well as for the decades to come.
The conference aimed to raise the awareness of GT technology development needs and to provide the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with policy makers and GT specialists from the whole value chain attending from Europe, the US and Asia.
The conference intended to stimulate creativity and enhanced international cooperation that can lead to the demonstration and implementation of innovative technologies for more efficient and environmentally-friendly gas turbines. It also explored the role of gas turbines in the energy policy today and in different energy scenarios for the future.

The 4th International Gas Turbine Conference - Future of Gas Turbine Technology was held in Brussels on 15-16 October 2008. More than 140 participants from Europe, US, Middle East and Asia attended the conference. A quarter of them were gas turbine users, and more than a third from OEMs and third party suppliers.
Participants gathered in a climate of rising demand of reducing emission and fuel flexibility. Policy maker from the EU presented the current status of the industrial emissions regulation. The US Department of Energy reported on the progress of technology R&D programmes in the US. A panel cosisted of OEM, GT users, research institute and policy makers discussed the role of gas turbine technology improvement in reaching climate policy goals.
The high level keynote sections were accompanied by technical presentations on some of the major technology breakthroughs in the gas turbine industry.

he 3rd International Gas Turbine Conference took place in Brussels in October 2006. More than 130 participants from gas turbine users, OEM's and academia have attended the event. The conference reviewed the current state-of-the-art gas turbine research and experiences, and gave a snapshot of the energy trends and policies across Europe, Asia and the US before focusing on the actual place of the gas turbine within the international policy mix. It also presented an outlook on research at EU and international level as well as cooperation opportunities.
